  • EC Alert to Undergo Service Change Oct. 31; Community Members Urged to Re-Register or Subscribe

Eagle County’s community alert system will undergo a service change on Oct. 31. As a result, all residents, visitors and business owners already subscribed to EC Alert will need to re-register at www.ecalert.org to continue receiving notifications.

The change is necessary because the county’s current provider for EC Alerts is retiring the system.  Everbridge, the system in use locally for 9-1-1 call backs, has been selected as the replacement.

“This change will move us off a platform that is no longer supported, while also consolidating our emergency notifications into one system,” said Eagle County Emergency Manager Barry Smith.

Subscribers to the new EC Alert platform will be able to set up location-based notifications; pick areas of interest such as traffic and weather; choose delivery options including email, text or phone; and change their subscriptions at any time.

For more information, contact Smith at 970-328-3545 or at barry.smith@eaglecounty.us; or Jennifer Kirkland at jkirkland@vailgov.com.
