  • Vail Valley Partnership Announced As Finalist for 2016 Chamber of the Year

(AVON, Colorado – June 13, 2016) – Earlier today, Vail Valley Partnership (VVP) was recently announced as a finalist for the 2016 Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE). Chamber of the Year is the nation’s only award recognizing the dual role Chambers have in leading businesses and communities. Chambers honored with this designation have not only demonstrated organizational strength, but also have made an impact on key community priorities such as education, transportation, business development, and quality of life.

Chris Romer, President and CEO at the VVP said, “We are honored to receive this recognition from ACCE for the second consecutive year. It speaks volumes to our chamber programming, our collaborative community efforts, the dedication of our staff, and the commitment of our volunteer leadership.”

Only chambers meeting certain benchmarks are invited to participate in this multi-step application process. Organizations entering the Chamber of the Year competition must meet minimum thresholds in at least three of five key performance areas, including net revenue, net assets, membership account retention, and membership dollar retention. The Chamber of the Year award involves a three-step process, which includes Dynamic Chamber Benchmarking, application and interview.   During the first two stages, chambers compete against the numbers. As finalists, they compete against other Chambers within their category. Applicants are grouped using the following factors to ensure a fair competition: total revenue, member accounts, service area population, number of businesses in the service area, and restricted revenue as a percentage of total revenue.

Vail Valley Partnership offers numerous signature programs that help highlight the Vail Valley as a community, such as Vail Valley Economic Development, Lodging Quality Assurance, NEXT Vail Valley, Platinum Service Program, and the Non-Profit Network. These signature programs, in addition to member marketing benefits, networking programs, customer service initiatives and collaborative programming including the Vail Valley Merchant Alliance and EGE Air Alliance, help raise the profile of the Vail Valley as a location that is business-friendly and open to entrepreneurs, as well as being a world class vacation destination.

The two other finalists for Chamber of the Year are The Chamber of Greater Springfield in Ohio and Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce in Michigan. The winner of the 2016 Chamber of the Year competition will be announced at ACCE’s Annual Convention on August 9-12, 2016 in Savannah, Georgia.
