Bills we’re watching in the Colorado legislature:

HB16-1202 – (Wist-R | Tate-R) ­ Mandatory Employer E-Verify Participation

Requires employers with 10 or more employees to use the federal E-Verify program to determine the work eligibility status of any new employees.

SB16-114 ­ (Carroll-D & Ulibarri-D / Danielson-D) Employee-Earned Paid Sick Leave

Requires employers to provide paid sick leave, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, capped annually at 40 hours for small employers and 72 hours for larger employers. Leave can carry forward, subject to the annual caps. Enforced with a new private right of action.
