Bright Future Foundation, Eagle County’s only community-driven domestic violence and sexual assault agency, recently appointed new officers and members to its board of directors. Lissa Tyler was appointed as president, Cindy Engles as vice president, Daric Harvey as secretary and Colleen Weiss as treasurer.
New Bright Future board members include Dr. Karen Nern, Steve Suggs and Rachel Nelson. Long-time board member and former president, Craig Cormack, joins Susan Frampton as board chair emeriti. Completing the board of directors are Doe Browning, Jim Flaum, Yvonne Jacobs, Elise Micati, Tom Moorhead, Pat Peeples and Shawna Topor.
“We select our board members from diverse sectors of our community,” says Sheri Mintz, executive director. “Each member is chosen based on initiative, integrity, analytical ability, sensitivity and leadership. More importantly, they are our spokespeople in the community, promoting the mission, vision, and values of Bright Future Foundation to the public.”
Bright Future Foundation empowers families and individuals who are affected by domestic violence and sexual assault with a clinical holistic approach in an effort to support each of them to experience long-term change, and ultimately individual self-sufficiency. From violence/crisis intervention, to therapy, legal counsel, safe living situations and family support, all of Bright Future Foundation’s wrap around services are provided within one organization. Core programs include: 24/7 crisis hotline (English & Spanish), Freedom Ranch Safehouse/emergency shelter and transitional housing, psychological services, legal representation, financial literacy, youth advocacy and mentorship, and outreach education.
