Innovative technology, talented visionaries, hot new startups — each help make Silicon Valley so iconic. Now four Eagle County residents have plans to put the Vail Valley in the spotlight with a new, real-time mobile marketing service slated for release in early 2016.
Dubbed TheDropp, the free new iPhone app and responsive website will match local customers with limited-time, limited-quantity offers on activities, events, dining and more. Browsable by categories of interest, offers will be available in real time with the ability to make purchases right inside the app.
Founder and longtime Edwards resident Kevin Bohren, whose resume includes 14 years at Compaq Computer Corporation, came up with the idea for the service in spring of 2015 after chatting with some local friends who own seasonal businesses.
Since early October, more than 30 area businesses have tested the service, each sharing constructive feedback that’s helped TheDropp team make important updates and reveal even more exciting opportunities.
“Local merchants have been truly instrumental in refining the service. They’re leading the charge right now, asking for even more, and really helping us empower them with innovative new technology,” explained Dennis McMahon, partner.
Beginning 4 p.m. Nov. 6 at Vail Brewing Company, local merchants are invited to enjoy a brew and a bite while taking TheDropp for a test drive and learning more about real-time mobile marketing.
“The unveiling event on Friday will be a fun little gathering to show people what we’re all about,” McMahon said. “We’re also giving away some prizes from local merchants, so be sure to bring a business card.”
TheDropp’s free iPhone app and customer website will launch in early 2016 in Eagle, Summit and Grand counties, with plans to expand throughout Colorado in mid-2016. Visit here to learn more.
