  • Worksite wellness event scheduled for Aug. 7

High Country Human Resources Association, in partnership with Eagle County Public Health & Environment, Health Links, and the Vail Valley Partnership, are sponsoring “Creating a Vibrant Workforce,” a program designed to assist employers with worksite wellness programs. The event will take place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at The Westin Riverfront Resort in Avon. Participants will learn about the unique needs of mountain employers through presentations on local workforce data and examples of workplace wellness and safety programs, as well as receive information on resources available through Health Links.

Through Health Links, employers can receive free consultation on developing cost effective wellness and safety programs. Up to $1,000 is available to employers with 50 or fewer employees to get a wellness program underway. Employers also have the opportunity to obtain a Healthy Business Certification. This certification provides statewide recognition to employers with successful wellness and safety programs, and qualifies employers for the Vail Valley Partnership’s Healthy Workforce Annual Success Award.

Cost of the event is $15 for High Country Human Resource Association members and $25 for non-members. To register, visit hchra.shrm.org. For more information on Health Links, contact Laura Emrich at laura.emrich@healthlinkscolorado.org, or visit www.healthlinkscolorado.org.

The program is supported by a three-year grant received by Eagle County Public Health & Environment to promote and support worksite wellness programs in Eagle, Grand, Jackson, Piktin and Summit counties through Health Links.
