Dallas Children’s Theatre’s (DCT) touring production of The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley is a whirlwind musical travelogue where Stanley, the ultimate exchange student, scours the globe to do something the world has never seen before, and learns that heroes come in all shapes and sizes. The musical stage adaptation of Jeff Brown’s classic book was published in 2008 and has been hitting the Theater for Young Audiences (TYA) national circuit to critical acclaim. “What I love about the show are all the teachable moments that don’t feel like lessons,” says guest director Michael Serrecchia, who returns to DCT following his success with the main-stage production of Flat Stanley. “Itʼs a fun, Broadway-style musical comedy about the value of being different and the importance of family.”
