Subaru "Share the Love"

Mountain Valley Developmental Services to benefit from

Subaru “Share the Love”

The seventh annual Subaru “Share the Love” event will take place at Glenwood Springs Subaru from November 20, 2014 through January 2, 2015. For every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased, Subaru will donate $250 to the customer’s choice of participating charities – including the local charity, Mountain Valley Developmental Services.

Mountain Valley Developmental Services has served adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities continuously from Glenwood to Vail, Rulison to Aspen, and Minturn to Leadville for over 35 years. The supports and services provided by Mountain Valley allow individuals with disabilities to achieve goals, live dreams, and pursue interests. Services include Early Intervention, Family Support, Residential Support, Living Services Support, Recreational Activities, Day Programming, Vocational Programming, Transportation and Medical Programming.

“We are so honored to have been chosen by Glenwood Springs Subaru,” says Dana Peterson, Director of Human Resources and Philanthropy at Mountain Valley. “The work we do so often flies under the radar, but we serve over 500 individuals and their families throughout our service area each year, and employ over 175 amazing people to provide these services.”

Mountain Valley seeks to provide independence and dignity to each and every individual receiving programming. “Whether we are working with a newborn baby recently diagnosed or with an aging participant interested in retiring from a community job, we understand the delicacy and intimacy of these decisions and strive to maintain professionalism and excellence in the supports provided” says Peterson.

There are four national charities and one local charity to choose from if you buy a new car from Glenwood Springs Subaru during the event. Mountain Valley hopes that people will choose to donate back to a local cause – both because the cause is great and to keep the dollars working to serve families in our valley where services and supports can cost more than other parts of the state.
