The Vilar Performing Arts Center welcomes the Brian Regan Live Comedy Tour on Thursday, July 17 at 8:00 PM. The perfect balance of sophisticated writing and physicality, Brian Regan delivers exceptional comedy that is relatable, clean and downright hysterical. He has appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” 26 times, making him the record-holder of any comedian performing on the show. His sharp wit and quality of material have garnered him a fervent fan base that continues to grow as he tours 80 cities per year. Tickets to Brian Regan Live Comedy Tour are $59.50 and are on sale now at the VPAC Box Office 970.845.8457 | www.vilarpac.org.

VPAC Executive Director Kris Sabel states, “Brian is someone we get a lot of requests for and it’s our pleasure to be able to bring him back to our community. His show is appropriate for families, which is rare in today’s world of standup comedy. Not that we don’t present comedians whose material could make a sailor blush, (comedy is very popular with our audiences) but we love that Brian keeps it clean and hilarious.”

Brian Joseph Regan grew up in a large family with seven brothers and sisters in Miami, Florida, and was always a fan of Steve Martin, The Smothers Brothers and Johnny Carson. He attended Heidelberg College in Ohio where he played wide receiver on the football team. He was originally on track to become an accountant, but along the way a football coach encouraged him to consider theater and communications. During his final semester in 1980, Regan dropped out of school to pursue his passion of stand-up comedy. He ultimately completed his degree in 1997. One of Brian’s brothers, Dennis Regan, also makes his living as a stand up comedian.

Regan has released a number of CDs and DVDs including “The Epitome of Hyperbole” and “Brian Regan Standing Up.” His 2004 DVD “Brian Regan Live” was a huge success, selling more than 150,000 copies and consistently topping the charts on iTunes.

The Peoria Journal Star said, “Brian Regan can turn the most mundane situations – like going to the eye doctor to get fitted for glasses, or trying to decide how many Fig Newtons to eat in one sitting – into side-splitting stand-up material.” Multiple generations of audience members will enjoy this show.

In December 2010, Brian released his highly anticipated new album, “All By Myself,” as a digital download only available at Brian’s online store. The album features over an hour of new material and was recorded in March 2010 at Brian’s record setting five sold-out shows at Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City. The previous record was four shows set by Jerry Seinfeld in 2005.
