Muddy mayhem is back with the Dirty Dozen Mud Run Saturday July 12, 2014. The Town of Gypsum and the Gypsum Recreation Center are hosting the annual 5K Mud Run and Obstacle Course to benefit Project Literacy of Eagle County. The Dirty Dozen the third installment of the GRC Race Series hosted by the Western Eagle County Municipal Recreation District (WECMRD).
The race will start at Bella’s Market with the first wave starting at 3pm. The main Adult 5K Mud Run and Obstacle Course (registration starts at $50) will challenge the weekend warrior through seasoned athlete. The Kids Muddy Obstacle Course ($15 registration) is guaranteed for muddy fun.
Previous family-friendly race courses have included dredging through muddy trenches, scaling muddy hillsides, climbing rock quarries and over monster truck tires, some challenges in this race will be ones which have not been seen in our other races.
And what would be more fun than running through the mud but cleaning it all off at the “After-party.” The Town of Gypsum is hosting the post-race event complete with live music form Chris Daniels & the Kings, a water park, free food for racers, a beer garden from Bonfire Brewing and games for the kids.
“This event is truly fun for all ages” says Gypsum recreation Center Director, Scott Ruff. “We want folks to jump into the world of obstacle racing with our fun local event.”
