Supporting local organizations and life-saving treatment and service programs, Ascent Sotheby’s International Realty continues on this path with the recent underwriting of a new Starting Hearts Automated External Defibrillator (AED) device at Vail Village’s Covered Bridge. Located near one of the Ascent Sotheby’s International Realty’s offices, staff and associates are also being trained on how to use the device so they can come to the aid of victims.
Starting Hearts Services
The Ascent Sotheby’s International Realty AED is one of six units being installed in Vail Village by Starting Hearts, a local organization started by Lynn Blake, a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) survivor, who attributes her saved life to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and early defibrillation. Dedicated to saving the lives of local SCA victims through free CPR and AED training and access programs, Starting Hearts is best known for “The HeartRod,” a decommissioned transit bus that Lynn converted into a CPR/AED classroom on wheels, teaching people how to save lives. Starting Hearts’ programs encourage participants to immediately recognize SCA and to CALL. PUSH. SHOCK.
