The 29th annual Ride the Rockies will be arriving in Avon’s Nottingham Park the morning of Wednesday, June 11. The Town of Avon is excited to welcome this infamous and long-running cycling event to our community and looks forward to over 2,000 cyclist and support staff dining, shopping and staying overnight in Avon. The riders will leave Avon the morning of June 12.
IMPORTANT PARKING, TRAFFIC & SAFETY MANAGEMENT PLANS FOR THE EVENT
Temporary Parking Lot Closures:
Avon Recreation Center’s West Parking Lot will be closed from 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11 until 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12
Town Hall West Side Parking Lot will be closed from 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11 until 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12
Lot #16 Parking Lot located on the north side of Nottingham Park will be closed from 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11 until 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12
Avon Elementary School Parking Lots on the north and south sides of the building will be closed from 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10 until 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12
Nottingham Park Recreational Courts Closures:
The basketball, tennis and pickle ball courts located in Nottingham Park will be closed from 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11 until 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12
Nottingham Park Recreational Field Closures:
The event headquarters will be located on the lower field in Nottingham Park which will be the location for 1,100 of the 2,000 participants camping in tents, shower trucks, demonstration areas, hospitality, vendors, luggage trucks, participant drop-off, shuttle stop, community information and bike security. The lower field will not be available to the public from 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10 to 9:00 a.m. until Thursday, June 12.
Ride the Rockies Afternoon Public Events
Ride the Rockies entertainment will be located on the upper field in Nottingham Park and will includes the beer garden, cycling seminar, food vendors and live music. The entertainment venue is open to the public and we invite the public to join us for all of the festivities starting at 1:00 p.m. and ending at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11.

4:30 to 4:45 p.m. Denver Post Charitable Foundation Check Presentation
4:45 to 6:30 p.m. Cycling Seminar
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Live Music by Wolf & Friends featuring Sweet Lillie’s
9:00 p.m. O’Dell Brewing Company Beer Garden Closes
