Vail Bluegrass announces the lineup for its inaugural series to be held on Wednesdays, July 2, July 16, August 13 and August 27 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Arrabelle at Vail Square. The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series is a free event with the option to purchase tickets for preferred seating. Tickets for preferred seating will go on sale Tuesday, April 1 on the website.
Drew Emmitt of Leftover Salmon kicks things off on July 2 with the Drew Emmitt Band, while GRAMMY award-winner and six-time nominee, Peter Rowan brings his Bluegrass Band to the Vail Bluegrass stage on July 16. Following a four-week break, Vail Bluegrass continues on August 13 featuring GRAMMY nominee, Sarah Jarosz. The Travelin’ McCourys featuring all current members of the GRAMMY award-winning Del McCoury Band (excluding Del) close out the series joined by Bill Nershi of the String Cheese Incident. Supporting artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
Additionally, the Vail Summer Bluegrass Series is supporting Colorado’s Sera Schools Music Program. Sera Schools, a community-based music school in Colorado (with a location in the Vail Valley), offers education programs and music lessons for children and adults in piano, guitar, violin and voice. The Sera Schools Music Program has set up a scholarship fund in the name of Vail Bluegrass.
