The Vail Recreation District’s (VRD) Sports Spectacular will return Thursday afternoons, beginning March 28 and provide an opportunity for children in grades first through third to participate in a variety of sports over a five week period including gymnastics, Nordic skiing, ice skating, gymnastics, basketball and tennis Only 25 spaces are available and registration is available through March 25 by clicking here.
According to VRD Sports Coordinator Steve Croucher, the young children sometimes aren’t sure which sports are their favorite and the Spectacular presents them with an array of activities to pick and choose from. “The Spectacular is a great way to introduce children to a variety of sports without being committed to just one sport for a five-week period,” said Croucher.
Cost for the five week program is $55 per child and includes equipment. The schedule is as follows:
4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28: Nordic Skiing, Vail Nordic Center
4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4: Ice Skating, Dobson Ice Arena
4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11:Gymnastics, Vail Gymnastics Center
