Vail Valley Partnership today revealed its second annual recipient of the “Member of the Year” award for the 10th Annual Success Awards. Kevin and Karen Allen, owners of High Country Computer Services and Vail Valley Partnership Ambassadors, were chosen as this year’s winners. The award recognizes an individual, or in this case individuals, of the Partnership who routinely participate in Chamber events and programs, work as promoters of the Partnership in the community and help to connect businesses and individuals to the Chamber.
The Allens exemplify the meaning of the word ambassador. Between bringing new people to the Partnership’s After-Hours Business mixers & networking events, attending educational seminars, regularly taking advantage of offered media & marketing events and more, the Allens are ambassadors in every sense of the word. Kevin and Karen Allen are extremely involved members and advocate on behalf of the Partnership to the community at every opportunity.
“Kevin & Karen are the definition of ‘Member of the Year.’ As owners of a small business, they utilize the VVP for networking and marketing benefits to increase awareness of High Country Computers and their annual electronic recycling event,” said Chris Romer, executive director of Vail Valley Partnership.
In addition to their involvement with the Partnership, Kevin and Karen are actively involved with the Gypsum Chamber as well. The Allens find that the networking aspect of Vail Valley Partnership provides them with added exposure to their business.
“As small business owners, we enjoy Vail Valley Partnership because it allows us to connect with managers and business owners we might otherwise never get a chance to meet. And as an organization, we cut our operating expenses by utilizing the partner to partner discounts and marketing opportunities available to us as VVP members. Through utilizing the membership benefits, our membership dues are returned to us each and every year,” said Kevin Allen, owner of High Country Computer Services.
The Partnership looks forward to recognizing the Allens for all of their involvement & efforts at the February 1st event at the Vilar Performing Arts Center.
