  • Process Underway to Select General Contractor for Redevelopment of Town of Vail Municipal Site

Redevelopment of the Town of Vail municipal site is taking another step forward with release of a request for proposal process for selection of a general contractor. The contractor would be responsible for the construction of all components on the site to include a new municipal building, a medical office building and an underground parking garage. The request is being issued jointly by the Town of Vail and Triumph Development. Triumph is the representative for Vail Valley Medical Center, the Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute.

The goal is to retain one general contractor for both building projects under separate contracts, if possible. The Town of Vail has hired OZ Architecture for design and CP Vail, LLC for project management, while the medical office building is being developed by Triumph Development and is being designed by Michael Graves and Zehren & Associates.

The Town of Vail has authorized the sale of a portion of the site to Vail Valley Medical Center and the Steadman Clinic to accommodate the redevelopment.

Proposals are due no later than 4 p.m. May 24 to the Town of Vail. A pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 10 at Donovan Pavilion. All project related information is available on the Town of Vail Share File site and at the Town of Vail Community Development Department Building, 75 S. Frontage Rd. Access to the Share File site can be obtained by emailing Lynne Campbell at lcampbell@vailgov.com. All proposers must download the submittal requirements by registering with Lynne Campbell at lcampbell@vailgov.com. Proposers will be added to the plan holder’s list and Share File system to receive future updates. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

All questions shall be directed to George Ruther at gruther@vailgov.com by 4 p.m. May 11.
