The Vail Valley Partnership- the Chamber & Tourism Bureau (VVP) today announced that it will co-host the second annual Big Green Think luncheon with Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability (EVAS) on October 13th at Manor Vail Lodge from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. This is the second year that the two local organizations have come together to present the educational event. This year’s topic is “Start Small, Think Big: Simple, Sustainable Ways to Improve Your Bottom Line.”
The luncheon will feature a panel discussion, focused on tangible practices that are meant to make your business more sustainable and profitable. Featured panelists include; Mr. Luke Cartin, Senior Mountain Environmental Affairs Manager for Vail Resorts, Ms. Lindsay Arell, Sustainability Programs Manager for the Colorado Convention Center, Mercedes Quesada-Embid, Professor of Sustainable Studies for Colorado Mountain College and Janet Burgesser, Environmental Business Assistance Coordinator for the City and County of Denver.
“The event will offer businesses practical ways to implement green practices to improve their bottom line. Whether it’s a lighting upgrade to more efficient lamps or a waste reduction project, the panelists will discuss real-life examples of projects that both help the environment and reduce costs,” said Jennifer Schenk, executive director of Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability.
As the official resource and advocate for local businesses, Vail Valley Partnership strongly believes in bringing timely and relevant educational events to the valley. Sustainable practices of individual businesses contribute to the overall well-being and economic vitality of Eagle County.

Tickets to the Big Green Think are available at $30 for VVP or EVAS members and $35 for non-members.
