Actively Green Certification

Looking to take an active role in your community? Want to save costs and support the environment? Concerned about the climate? Get trained and certified in sustainability best-practices through Walking Mountains Science Center’s Actively Green Sustainable Business program!

The Actively Green Program and trainings will inform you and your colleagues of how incorporating sustainability can help with employee satisfaction and retention, efficient resource use and environmental protection, and your business’s bottom line. The program was developed with partner nonprofit Sustainable Travel International and any type of business can participate.

New businesses can check out one of our focused workshops on a variety of sustainability in business topics. To begin the Actively Green certification process, businesses can attend an introductory training in which they learn what goes into a sustainability management system and create their own sustainability action plan. After the introductory training each business receives one-on-one coaching to assist them with Actively Green bronze, silver, or gold certification.

VVP Incentives

  1. Members of the Vail Valley Partnership can send employees to the training sessions free of charge. Just indicate that you are a VVP business when registering (VVP membership will be verified).
  2. The first 10 businesses to sign up for the Actively Green certification each year will receive 50% off first year fees for the program.

The Actively Green program includes a cloud-based sustainability management system database, training for additional employees, assistance with establishing a “green team”, invitations to free education and networking sessions, and the annual Actively Green awards party in November. Certified businesses also receive a marketing toolkit and are recognized online and in seasonal newspaper advertising campaigns.

Certificates of Origin

A Certificate of Origin (CO) is an important international trade document that certifies that goods in a particular export shipment are wholly obtained, produced, manufactured or processed in a particular country. They also serve as a declaration by the exporter. VVP members have access to receive these at no additional cost.

Colorado Association of Commerce & Industry

Affiliate Membership: The mission of the Colorado Association of Commerce & Industry (CACI) is to champion a healthy business climate. ECO Transit Employer Bulk Purchase Discount

Employers who would like to provide bus passes to their employees are given a 15% discount when they purchase five or more passes. This offer includes all types of passes (1-Day, 10-Ride and 30-Day), as well as regular and premium routes. Passes are sent to employer via FedEx (at no charge). An invoice is included, which is payable by check or credit card. Please note: when paying by credit card, there is a $2.00 processing fee for every $100 paid.

Through a partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, VVP’s membership will now have access to a number of member benefits and cost savings provided by the U.S. Chamber at no additional cost. Workers Compensation Discount Program

VVP Members are now eligible to receive a chamber sponsored discount when purchasing workers’ compensation through VVP affiliation program.

Who is eligible?

  • VVP members in good standing at Copper Level or above.
  • Maintain a 50% or better loss ratio using up to the most recent four policy periods, excluding the current policy period, in either: 1) all but one policy period; or 2) cumulatively using up to the four most recent policy periods.
  • Must have at least 24 months continuous prior worker’s compensation coverage.
  • Must attend or complete at least (2) two Affinity Program-approved risk management training sessions within the first 10 months of policy period.
  • Demonstrate effective hiring, risk, and claims management programs.
  • Demonstrate management commitment to creating a safe workplace.
  • Implement a return-to-work program.
  • Meet all First Comp underwriting criteria.
  • Complete policy premium audits on all policy periods.

How much can members save?
Eligible members will receive a discount between 15-25% based on underwriting criteria.
