Eagle County Ballot Initiatives 2016

The following are current Eagle County ballot initiatives that Vail Valley Partnership’s board of governors has taken a position on:

2016 Ballot Initiatives:

  • Issue 1A (Affordable Workforce Housing):
    Partnership Positon: SUPPORT
Rationale: VVP’s vision is to develop and enhance the economic vitality of the Vail Valley. Our board – consisting of community leaders from a wide range of industry and geographic locations throughout the county – has identified workforce housing as a key strategic priority. We have listened to our members, who have continually and consistently told us of the challenges presented by a lack of affordable housing.  See Vote Yes for 1A for more information.
  • Issue 3A (Eagle County School Mill Levy Override)
    Partnership Postion: SUPPORT
Rationale: VVP’s board of governors supports 3A because we recognize the importance of teacher retention, small class sizes, technology, and programs including art, music, technology, and physical education on a strong education. We believe these are important to our business community, as a strong school system is vital to our business retention, expansion, and recruiting efforts.
See Yes for ECS for more details.
  • Issue 3B (Eagle County Schools Bond)
    Partnership Position: SUPPORT
Rationale: VVP’s board of governors supports 3B because our business community is dependent upon a strong workforce. Our future workforce – our students – will benefit from 3B through the renovation and reconstruction of schools throughout the valley, including adding new classrooms for STEM and career skills programs at Eagle Valley High School and the facility for Red Canyon High School.
See Yes for ECS for more details.
