Every February, the Vail Valley Partnership team attends the annual Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.) conference to learn from others in the chamber industry. This year, Vail Valley Partnership earned an outstanding chamber program award for their efforts in creating the Eagle Valley Transportation Authority, and President and CEO, Chris Romer, was recognized for 15 years of service as a Chamber of Commerce Executive.
Outstanding Chamber Program Award
Each year W.A.C.E. recognizes outstanding programs that showcase a chamber’s performance in the core competency areas that business people everywhere believe are important for their local chamber to do – programs that: help strengthen the local economy, promote the community, represent business interests with government, build business relationships, or involve political action. These are exemplary programs of what being a 3C chamber – a catalyst, convener and champion – is all about. A key component in the judges’ decision was could and should other chambers follow the lead of these award recipients and replicate them in their chambers.
Service Award
Service awards are presented in appreciation of outstanding devotion to public and community interest while serving as a leader of Chamber of Commerce activities. They are given out when an executives reaches certain milestones like 5 years in the industry, 10 years in the industry, 15 years in the industry and so on.
